Let me introduce you something that I’ve been working on alongside with other projects. This day always seemed to be just one step further away from where I stood, close but far, unreachable but almost graspable. There are moments in our lives that our objectives get impossibly demanding. Dreams I am pursuing, that I am craving for, that I wish for my life… They might take time and so much effort that it’s of vital importance to understand my fears, my doubts but also my strengths and grow with that knowledge steadily. A linear journey it isn’t for sure… besides any planning or map you might have, it’s important to adapt to the unforeseen situations that pop up along the way no matter what. There will be always inaccuracies, things that couldn’t have been predicted, anxiety and struggles. Sometimes we just need to sit down, relax, to be with our loved ones, to have that one moment of rest before making one more push towards our objective.

Blankets hats are a petite, limited, unique handmade collection inspired by the Portuguese cultural heritage “cobertores de papa” (papa blankets). A blanket documented during the early XVI century and used by the Guarda’s shepherd. Made from the fleece of native long wool sheep breeds. It was with that wool that I knit these hats. One of the particularities is the rough touch, rustic look and the distinctive faux fur. I wanted to bring the heritage blanket but also draw inspiration from the great outdoors, the landscapes and the endless array of colors the sky is stained by each day at dawn.
