Life Lately

bag-on-a-flag: when Dutch students pass their high school exams, the family will hang the flag with the school bag to mark the success.

An unexpected break

It is middle of June and summer is nearly upon us. As the days stretched I found myself waking up earlier and earlier till I settled around 5 AM. At the moment, just as I’m writing this, the sky is dark and the deep dark grey stretches until the horizon only interrupted by the flashes of an unstoppable storm of lightning, thunder and rain. Somehow this storm soothes me.

But June is here meaning that half year just passed over in a hurry and I feel that I’ve been here and there, sometimes a little bit more lost than others, more than often dormant. And there have been so many thoughts and questions that revolve in my head, that it took me some time to find my way back… It wasn’t intentional. Sometimes it takes some time until we find our pace again to feel grounded and reassured of our reason to be. An unexpected break can be as refreshing as reinvigorating!

Anyhow I’m ready to come back to this little corner of mine. I hope you enjoy these photographs from my recently walks in Rotterdam and Amsterdam at least as much as I enjoyed taking them.
