A summer knit

This is the third design that I made from the magazine Amirisu issue 16.

This lovely summery cardigan was in my queue since last year. I really wanted to knit something lighter for summertime. The pattern features some inquisitive construction, lace, stockinette and garter stitch. It was very easy to follow and I’m very happy with the final result.

I decided to knit with 100% linen yarn by Portuguese company Rosários 4 that I found at Retrosaria Rosa Pomar. This is the second time that I used this yarn and the second handmade summer garment that I made to include in my capsule wardrobe.

Linen is an ancient, sustainable, natural fiber spun from the flax plant and for me is the best fiber for summer. Airy, light, and flexible. And because it is linen the passing of the years on this cardigan will only make it even more beautiful and nicer due to the worn and washing.
